How to show Power & Search button on Start screen RRS feed

  • Hi,

    I have 2 Windows Server 2012 R2. One has Power and Search in Start screen, and another didn't. screen shot as follow.

    The other server's snap as follow:

    How can I configure the other can show Power & Search in Start screen?

    Thanks for your post.

    According to my research, the bottom picture is how Server 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1 look before you apply KB2919355, otherwise known as Windows 8.1/2012 R2 Update 1.

    Try running the following PowerShell command on the server to see if it's been installed yet:

    Get-HotFix -Id KB2919355

    Have a read of KB2919355 before applying as it does have another hotfix as a prerequisite and needs to be applied in a particular order. Either that or if you're pulling updates via something like WSUS, check there are no updates waiting to be applied.
