CHM not opening from network folder


  • Hello,

    I can't find anything answer to my problem:
    All our computers with windows 7 and latest updates could not open CHM files from network patch \\hostname\c$\test.chm, or other mapped network drive etc. 

    I noticed this problem it happens with KB4103713 and KB4103718 updates. Maybe you know how to resolve it without delete updates?

  • Check Your Intranet Security Settings:

    1. Open Windows Control Panel
    2. Open Internet Options
    3. Click the Security tab
    4. Select the Local Intranet zone 
    5. Click the Sites button
    6. Make sure that all of the boxes are checked EXCEPT 'Automatically Detect Intranet'

  • Hi, yes all of the boxes are checked except Automatically Detect Intranet. I'm think this not security problem, trying connect to local pc with network patch ( \\hostname same to same computer). The problem persists

  • Tony_Tao, yes i see this article, but this for windows 8, and very old. On windows 7 it happened ~2018.05.24. 

    I'm testing workaround, but it does not help.
