Emails from Gmail to Exchange 2010 delivery problem

  • We have Microsoft Exchange 2010 installed on Microsoft Windows 2008 Server. We also have Symantec mail security for Microsoft Exchange installed on the same Exchange server.

    We had no problem receiving emails from any external domains like Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail etc. but recently we are facing an issue wherein if someone sends a simple email from Gmail without any attachment we do receive the email, but if there is a PDF/JPG/ZIP attachment to it, the email doesn’t get delivered to us. The sender gets the following undeliverable message after 12/24 hours:

     

    The below message received at gmail.

    Message not delivered

    There was a problem delivering your message to javedm@????????? See the technical details below.

    The response was:

    read error: generic::failed_precondition: read error (0): error

    Final-Recipient: rfc822; javedm@????? Action: failed Status: 4.4.2 Remote-MTA: dns; ns1.??????.com.   • Consider removing Symantec Mail Security, if temporarily, to see if the problem goes away.  If it does, then you're welcome to post in a Symantec Mail Security forum.

    Except what Ed Crowley has said, we also want to confirm with you:
    1. Whether this issue occur when send mails internally?
    2. Whether this issue occur when send mails with a attachment from other server?

  • Hi Libra,

    Has anything changed in Exchange send connectors/Receive connector recently. 

    As you said incoming is fine with attachments and only external?

    Did you check the queue viewer with error details

    I checked the queue but noting are there.
