Biography
Tom Murphy is director of corporate communications for Microsoft’s corporate citizenship and community affairs programs. Prior to moving to Seattle in 2009, Tom was responsible for Microsoft’s local public relations and citizenship programs in Ireland. He has been working in international public relations since 1992 and has worked with companies of all sizes across North America, Asia and Europe. Tom has a strong personal and professional interest in the ways social media is changing how people and organizations connect and communicate. He has been blogging since 2002, primarily focusing on public relations and social media and is a regular speaker on the subject. He is working hard on understanding the intricacies of baseball and American football while still getting up far too early to indulge his passion for European rugby.
