  • So email subscription is not working for you with MOM 2005?  From what I recall, and it has been a while, you had to configure this on the SRS server in the settings (which email server it would use).  Also the account that is going to generate the report, which is usually your MOM service account has to be mail enabled (has a mailbox and can send mail).

  • Ah ok, MOM 2000 was what I was thinking uses Access.  MOM 2005 uses SRS and you have to configure SRS to send email.  This is done on the SRS web site in settings.  He has to go to the site, and click on settings and configure the mail server, email account, etc.  Then it should work as long as the server he is using will allow anonymous relay from the SRS server.

Here is a link to MOM 2005 product documentation.  Send this to him.  I do not think the MOM team explained how to set up SRS to send email, but it's a no brainer if he has access to configure his SRS (Sql Reporting Services) front end.

Have him download all the guides.  The second link is the download page for the operations guide and the large zip at the bottom contains the entire guide.  He should look at some of the deployment guides for hints on getting SRS configured, but like I said I think they never mention how to do this, they referred you to the SRS documentation.

  • So your notification (email notification for alerts) is working.

Report subscription via EMAIL is not.

I don't have a mom 2005 console anymore.  But I do realize now that there was no SRS in MOM 2005, it used Access rendering for reporting.  So I ask you, is there a setting in your mom 2005 console designated for smtp?  I am thinking there is not, that the report email subscription might just use the email settings inside mom 2005.

So Eamonn, the reports you are running, do they complete?  And this is Mom 2005 right?  What service pack of Mom 2005?

all this problem started when the email server went down.  new server installed and hencethe problem

I am only doing some research for a colleauge! but he tells me that the email is working from mom 2005, He,s simply not getting the reports, so he has to run them manually.
