Windows Media Player won't open?

  • I've never had this problem before, but windows media player refuses to open on my windows 7. I have the latest version of the player and have not had trouble with it until recently. When I click to open it it opens a blank media player that won't load anything and just sits with the cursor loading for forever. Then when I try to close it I oftentimes can't, forcing me to restart my computer. I've tried restarting my computer, shutting it down, everything and nothing works. I have a little over 700 songs on my media player and would really like to listen to them. I've even tried inserting a DVD to open the player and it doesn't even open or do anything.

    Any advice? Thanks!

  • Hi,

You can try this steps to restore your windows media player.

Turn ON/OFF Windows Media Player again.

    1. Go to Start and in the search type "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    2. Click on the "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    3. Check mark the "Media Features".
    4. Restart the Computer.
