Biography
I have been working in systems administration and software development since the dawn of the personal computer age in the early 1980's. I held contract programming jobs during the summers even before graduating from high school -- building databases using some kind of IBM software that booted off a 5 1/4" floppy. After college, I took a job as a network admin at a major investment bank where I shepherded the company through a 500-seat migration from DOS to Windows 3.1. A few years later, I co-founded one of the first e-commerce sites on the web (using a bleeding-edge mix of Netscape's NSAPI webserver technology on Windows 95/NT), where we accomplished the rather "quaint" feat of actually making money and generating profits for our investors. Now I'm co-owner and CTO of a major online advertising company built on a full suite of mainstream Microsoft technologies (ASP.NET, SQL Server, Windows Server, and Visual Studio).
