Adapters for a BizTalk server represent the fundamental foundation by which interoperability between different IT systems is possible – they’re responsible for sending and receiving messages to and from the BizTalk server and different applications.
BizTalk contains many built-in adapters for communication with external systems. When those built-in adapters do not meet the needs of your project, some hard decisions need to be made such as whether to buy an adapter, build an adapter using the framework or use an open source adapter. There are a great post from Stephen W. Thomas that addresses this question: BizTalk Adapters: Buy, Build, or CodePlex This article is intended to be a knowledge base of all Third-Party BizTalk adapters that are available.

The Community BizTalk Adapter for ODBC is based on the code that was first made available on GotDotNet a few years ago. TwoConnect has refreshed this code, added an installer, and tested it against the latest BizTalk editions. We are releasing the updates back to the BizTalk developer, user and partner community as part of our ongoing community intitiatives. This is the second adapter package that TwoConnect makes available to the community after the very succesful release of the BizTalk WSE 3 adapter a couple of years ago. This adapter is useful in all ODBC based integration scenarios.

LDAP Adapter
You can find more at Integration Software's site: http://www.integrationsoftware.se/products/biztalk-adapters/ldap-adapter/
This send port adapter makes it very easy to create one-way and/or solicit response (Request/Reponse) operations against LDAP Directory Services like Windows Active Directory. The simplicity comes from the stand alone Windows Client utility that helps developers quickly test the operations supported by the adapter. Operations have distinct names and are logically grouped per entity (Users, Groups, OU etc). Working with LDAP is error prone and much effort has been put into providing superior exception feedback, which will result in faster incident management, easier development and in the end less money spent on building LDAP integrations and faster time to market.
