Accessing Your Profile

Your profile is your hub of personal and shared information. It is always available to view and modify. It is the place where you and others can see the recognition system:

To access your profile:

  1. Make sure you have joined and are signed in to the TechNet Wiki.
  2. Find your display name. It is to the right of the search bar at the top of the screen:

  3. Click your display name.
  4. To make it easier to contact you, list an e-mail address in the "Biography" section
  5. Make sure you save any changes made before leaving your profile.

Avatar Basics

Think of your avatar as a window into some aspect of your personality, hobbies, technical skills or passions, interests, humor -- whatever makes you you. When you first join the TechNet Wiki community, you are assigned a generic avatar. The generic avatar is very generic and provides no insight into the you behind the display name.

Choose an avatar! It can be a location, a favorite character, interesting object, hobby, old yearbook photo, virtually anything that reflects some aspect of you. Just make sure it does not run afoul of the Code of Conduct or you may be sanctioned or banned.

To assign or change your avatar picture, see How to Change Your Avatar.
