These three commands need to be run on the Windows 7 host in the event that there have been changes to the shortcuts due to one or more of the following conditions:

  • Renaming of the shortcuts to the published applications inside the guest operating system
  • Deletion of the shortcuts to the published applications in the host operating system
  • Disappearing shortcuts resulting from a guest operating system local change.

Running the following commands in the host operating system will trigger a republishing of the applications.

wmic /namespace:\\root\Microsoft\Medv PATH Setting set UxAppPublishingEnabled=0

REG DELETE "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MEDV\Application Publishing" /f

wmic /namespace:\\root\Microsoft\Medv PATH Setting set UxAppPublishingEnabled=1

Restart Machine and the icons will republish. It may take a few seconds as the MED-V Workspace starts.

This can be a script that is double-clicked or it can also be coded.
