Data Protection Manager (DPM) in System Center 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 can be deployed using tape-based backup for data protected by the DPM server. A tape library or stand-alone tape drive can be connected to DPM servers. For more information see Planning the Tape Libraries Configuration. The following tables summarize tape libraries that are compatible with DPM in System Center 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019.
To determine if a tape library is supported by virtual Fibre Channel adapter, contact the tape library hardware vendor or run the DPM Tape Library Compatibility Test tool. For additional information about the DPM Tape Library Compatibility Test tool, see Verify tape library compatibility.
Note: Tape libraries connected using multi-path software are not supported by DPM. Only tape libraries connected using a single path are supported.
Below libraries are only certified with physical setup of Data Protection Manager 2012 R2, Data Protection Manager 2016 or Data Protection Manager 2019.

i was checking HP 2024 and 408 in this list and it says that only LTO3/4 drives are compatible.
HP state that their LTO5 and LTO6 equipment is also DPM compatible - see here at page 10:
