Upgrade Assistant compares how an application’s queries run on SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 with how they run on SQL Server Code Name “Denali”. When you complete all of the tasks associated with Upgrade Assistant you will:

  • Identify potential compatibility issues with an application that need to be corrected before you upgrade to SQL Server Code Name “Denali”.
  • Have experience upgrading from SQL Server 2005/2008 to SQL Server Code Name “Denali”.
