Introduction:

The user starts his or her system and finds "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you (0% complete)" error message appears on the screen. At the bottom, the user finds the error code 0xc000021a. After the percentage measurement is completed, the system restarts automatically.

Causes:

There are three main causes behind this error.

winlogon.exe:

It handles the login and logout procedures. If it is corrupted then the operating system switches to kernel mode. As a result, the system cannot boot.

Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS):

The csrss.exe process is part of Client Server Runtime Process. If it is corrupted then again, the operating system switches to kernel mode. As a result, the system cannot boot.

Mismatched system files:

This can also cause this error. This can occur if the user has restored a hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs might skip restoring system files that they determine are in use.

Resolution:

  Running SFC /scannow Command:

1.     Restart the PC, hold the Shift key and click Restart button.

2.    Select Troubleshoot under Choose an option.

3.    Click Advanced option

2       Select Troubleshoot under Choose an option.

3.     Click Advanced option
