In VAMT3 saw the following error on the Products-Windows panel
Computer name: kms.company.com
Product Name: Windows Server (R), Server Standard
Product Key Type: CSVLK
License Status: Unknown
Genuine Status: Genuine
Status of last action: Unknown error (0x80131904)
I have been thrust into the role of admin for our KMS server, so this is all new to me. Recently we installed a patch to get us up to Win8 compatiablity (KB2885698), didn't notice any problems after that. Now I'm getting this error.
I have tried to update the license status with current credentials and get 'User Credentials can not be used for local connections'. I've attempted alternative credentials with the administrator
account, but received the same error.
Seeing as how I'm new to this, I'm pretty sure I could be missing a troubleshooting step, but I could use any advice whatsoever. It's about to become a rather urgent issue for us.
Edit: I should note that we also have VAMT2 on this server as well, and that doesn't appear to be reporting any errors. Could the two versions be causing problems?

I am not sure whether this issue is caused by two VAMT versions in one system.
Based on my knowledge, Error 0x80131904 is a typical SQL error. What worth noting is that in version 3.0, data is no longer stored in Computer Information
Files (CIL), but is instead stored in a SQL Server database.
After we install VAMT, if we have a computer information list (CIL) that was created in a previous version of VAMT, we must import the list into a
SQL database. If we do not have SQL installed, we can download a free copy of Microsoft SQL Server Express and create a new database into which we can import the CIL.
Regarding VAMT, the following articles can be referred to for more information.
