Gateway Loses the Certificate with Every Reboot

    Question

  • Helpful Friends:

I have had Remote Desktop Gateway running on my domain controller on Server 2012 successfully for a year or more.  But recently I have begun experiencing a problem where the certificate is lost every time the server reboots.

I have downloaded and reinstalled my certificate and installed the new intermediate certificate, but the problem continues.  I've looked at other threads but none have helped.

This is enormously disruptive to our workplace because we are entirely virtualized with lots of access from outside our LAN.

    Can anyone help?

  • Hi,

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.

Did you find any particular Error\Event id for this issue?

Found some common symptoms in this thread, where the issue might cause due to corruption in server configuration part, also please check that you have certificate is imported with its primary key. Also see that certificate used is signed by trusted authority. For a try please try to reconfigure the certificate with its primary key and check the result with following article.
RDS: RD Gateway must be configured to use an SSL certificate signed by a trusted certification authority

    Hope it helps!
