Why I can't use SkyDrive without signing to microsoft account?

    Question

  • Why I can't use SkyDrive without signing to microsoft account?

    Is there any workaround?

I think that it is impolite to force user to use microsoft account on their machines.

Hope that this issue will be fixed in future releases.

    I don't know.

Using the web only version unless it's Microsoft Office files, and in that
case, O2013 has built in skydrive access.

I don't like it either.  I use dropbox instead.

It wasn't like this until Windows 8.1.

Marking this (correct) answer as "the answer" from MS reveals how MS treats customers and the "comptence" of MS employees moderating this forum. Customers are simply ignored. I moved to dropbox as well, but would like to use skydrive as well. But if MS keeps this weird windows 8.1 ***.
